Developers can no longer build footpaths in the right of way without GMDA approval
GMDA has directed developers to take permission before building footpaths in the right of way and to follow the prescribed cross-section and alignment. The move follows cases where manholes were covered during construction; engineers must also ensure tree protection, road gullies and manhole accessibility.
यह क्यों ज़रूरी है: When checking a new project's pedestrian infrastructure claims, ask for GMDA approval, manhole access and right-of-way compliance documents.

NHAI to remove metal railings from nine flyovers on the Delhi–Gurugram Expressway
NHAI has said it will remove the remaining metal railings from all flyovers on the 28-km Delhi–Gurugram Expressway within two weeks. The step was speeded up after a fatal accident caused by an exposed pipe near Signature Tower; the removal work will be done at night, so limited traffic disruption is possible.
यह क्यों ज़रूरी है: Factor night-time maintenance work and route-safety advisories into the timing of site visits along Cyber City and the expressway corridor.

Realty stocks fall after repo rate rises to 5.50%; pressure on affordability
After the RBI's 25-basis-point rate hike, DLF closed 1.7% lower and Lodha more than 2% lower on 7 October, with other major realty stocks also ending down. Experts said mortgage costs could be affected, especially for first-time, EWS and LIG buyers, though they did not see it as a sign of a broad property-price crash.
यह क्यों ज़रूरी है: Buyers should make the current home-loan rate, an EMI stress test and loan sanction validity a fixed part of the budget discussion.

70% of Indian organisations are prioritising AI; security remains a hurdle
A Dell Technologies study covered 150 business and IT decision-makers in India. It found that 70% of organisations are prioritising AI and that the share of production deployments rose by a third in a year. Even so, security, compliance and infrastructure gaps have slowed or stopped many deployments.
यह क्यों ज़रूरी है: Before starting an AI pilot, fix the business KPI, data access controls, a compliance owner and the production infrastructure.
